What will you be presenting at the conference?
I will present BASF’s Value-to-Society approach. It is our latest innovation in sustainability performance measurement. Value-to-Society assesses the economic, social and environmental impacts of our business activities in monetary terms along the value chain. Taking a macro-perspective, it provides new insights in the long-term value contribution of a company, interdependencies across different capitals and for decision making processes.
How are you presently engaging with responsible investors?
We are engaging with (responsible) investors in various formats such as annual shareholder meeting, roadshows, investor days or in bi-lateral meetings. In addition, we provide relevant information about BASF tailored for our investors, e.g. in our BASF Factbook.
Why do you think the UN Sustainable Development Goals are important?
The SDGs provide globally agreed goals of our society. Therefore, they set the framework where to focus our activities and the benchmark for our performance to make the word sustainable. Contributing to the fulfillment of the SDGs is essential for good business practice.
How are your products helping to deliver on the UN SDGs?
BASF has more than 60.000 product applications in the market helping our customer across all industries globally to make better products and find innovative and smart solutions. We have set ambitious targets regarding the share of so called Accelerator products as well as phasing out so called Challenged products.
