Marte joined Aviva plc in 2015 and Aviva Investors in 2018.
Main Responsibilities
Marte is responsible for driving forward Aviva Investor’s responsible investment strategy process and supporting commercial development in the area of responsible investment. She leads a number of projects focused on improving client communication and using digital technology to bring people closer to where their money is going. With a background in public policy and regulatory development, she is also supports Aviva Investors’ public policy work at a UK, EU and Global level.
Experience & Qualifications
Marte is currently a Vice-Chair of the Finance Task Force at the Business at OECD and a member of the Confederation of British Industry’s ‘35 Under 35 Committee’, which represents the views of 35 young business leaders under 35. Focused on diversity and the role entrepreneurs can play in solving society’s challenges she sits on the steering committee at the Hatch Female Founders Accelerator and a mentor for start-ups at the social accelerator Bethnal Green Ventures.
Marte previously led the global communication strategy for Aviva’s digital business, including its strategic venture capital fund and as Head of EU public policy she led the company’s public policy work in Brussels on sustainable finance, financial reform and Brexit. She joined Aviva from the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) where she was Head of Financial Services and Corporate Governance. During her time in Brussels she also worked at the EU public affairs consultancy The Brussels Office and the Mission of Norway to the EU.
Marte holds an MSc in European Political Economy from the London School of Economics.
