Tim Westwell is a co-founder of Pukka Herbs. Founded 15 years ago in Bristol, UK, Pukka has become globally recognised and respected for its herbal teas, wellbeing supplements and pioneering approach to sustainable business practices.
Tim discovered the magic of herbs after an issue with his own health gave him reason to look for a more natural alternative. Around the same time, he began searching for a happier, more conscious life following a career break after various roles in sales and marketing. So in 2002, he placed an advert in a local magazine looking for a like-minded business partner who shared his passion for nature and desire to contribute to a more positive world. It was through this advert that Tim met herbalist Sebastian Pole. Whilst Sebastian formulated the teas in his kitchen, Tim ran “the office” from his spare bedroom and together they launched three organic herbal teas and never looked back.
As Managing Director, Tim, together with Sebastian, has led Pukka’s incredible growth. The organisation has been doubling in size every two years for the last eight and Pukka’s teas are sold in over 40 countries, with forecasted revenues of circa £50m this year. Despite this growth, Tim and Sebastian remain true to their original vision of connecting people to the power of plants. Whilst profit fuels our purpose, we’ve ensured our values flourish.
Today Pukka donates 1% of its sales to environmental initiatives and is certified by one of the highest fair trade standards in the world, Fair for Life. Pukka became a B company in 2016 signalling its ongoing commitment to people, plants and planet.
